Mike Healy

CEO

Mike is responsible for Gardner Standard’s investment activities, including in targeted areas of aerospace & defense, manufacturing and OTC consumer brands. Prior to founding Gardner Standard in 2009, Mike worked as an investment professional at Goldner Hawn Johnson & Morrison and as a corporate lawyer at Cravath, Swaine & Moore.

Mike holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and is a graduate of Harvard Law School.

Dan Winters

Director, Portfolio Development

Dan is responsible for business development initiatives at Gardner Standard, including sourcing and evaluating new investment opportunities as well as add-on acquisition candidates for our current companies. Prior to joining Gardner Standard in 2021, Dan worked as a consultant at Berkeley Research Group and in the investment banking group at Morgan Stanley.

Dan holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.

Craig Mell

Controller

Craig provides oversight of the financial reporting and accounting functions at Gardner Standard’s companies and is responsible for a variety of additional portfolio management functions, including operational improvement initiatives and implementing best practices.  Craig also is involved in investment sourcing and due diligence activities.  Prior to joining Gardner Standard, Craig served in leadership roles in finance and operations management with companies experiencing rapid growth, integrating acquisitions, and executing turnaround initiatives.

Craig holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and master of accountancy degree from the University of North Dakota.

Ryan Yost

Recruitment Project Manager

Ryan leads Gardner Standard’s recruiting activities, including developing recruitment strategies and processes as well as personally recruiting for important roles at our companies. Prior to joining Gardner Standard, Ryan successfully recruited hundreds of employees at a range of seniority levels in the equipment rental, residential services and other industries.

Kathy Sturgeon

Operations Manager

Kathy is responsible for operations and administrative functions of Gardner Standard and also participates in investment sourcing activities. Prior to joining Gardner Standard, Kathy worked for an investment banking firm as its Operations Manager for more than a decade.

Kathy holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Montana – Missoula College.

Pat Healy

Strategic Advisor

Pat provides strategic advice to Gardner Standard and is responsible for certain operational improvement initiatives at its companies. Projects include business development, recruiting, IT infrastructure, and other initiatives. He currently leads the Department of Clinical Innovation at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City.

Pat holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame and an MBA from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
